#AvocadOMG 5 simple ways an Avocado can bring joy to your meal

I've heard it said that avocados to a vegetarian or vegan are like bacon to a meat eater & while I cannot confirm the effect of bacon on my daily mood, I can assure you that avocados brighten up my day as much as anyone I have ever seen load up on bacon sarnies.

Their creamy texture, versatility, & simplicity really do bring joy as an accompaniment to any of my meals and are a stable fat source for me year round.

Its great to know that avocados are extremely nutrient dense, packing healthy amounts of vitamins k & c & lots of fibre as well as healthy monounsaturated fats. When ripe they have a creamy texture making them a versatile addition or substitute in many traditional dishes.

Here are 5 simple ways you can put these tasty, often dragon egg-esque delights to good use. (🐲#GOT)

1) On Toast
Simple, mash a ripe avocado, add some chilli flakes and pop on your fave bread (sourdough works for me) for a tasty breakfast option that's ready in under 2 minutes.

2) Avocado & eggs
If you've never had soft scrambled eggs with mashed avocado on the side shame on you, get on it.

3) Guacamole
Top your homemade vegan chilli bowl with some tasty simple guacamole made with ripe avocado, chilli flakes, salt, little olive oil & squeeze of lemon juice mashed together.

4) Cake!
If its someone specials birthday, perhaps combine the avocado with some quality dark chocolate & make an avocado & chocolate cake in their honour.

5) In smoothies
The possibilities really are endless here & before you're sceptical, rest assured, avocados provide a tasty silky texture without overwhelming the taste, but my personal fave is to mix with fresh or frozen berries, spinach, banana & almond milk for a tasty nutrient dense breakfast on the go.
